近日，廣州媒體臥底揭秘麥當勞、肯德基等洋速食餐廳違規用工，其鐘點工的薪資低于非全日制職工最低小時薪資標準。除此之外，洋速食連鎖店還被指控犯有不為兼職工繳納工傷保險、故意延長兼職工試用期等六宗罪。

報道中的probationary period就是求職者需要歷程的試用期，也可寫做probation^{3 period、probationary employment period或trial period。}

Probation在此指（以觀后效的）查詢，也可和介詞on連用，表示在試用期，如：We'll have to take you on one month's probation first（大家得先試用你一個月）；He is a mechanic on probation（他是個見習機械工）。

除此之外，probation常用來指緩刑，如：three years' probation under suspended sentence of one year's imprisonment^{5（一年有期徒刑緩刑三年）。}
